Thank God It's Friday

Are you all waiting for the weekend to come ? I know I am. This has been a long week. And today was a very long day for me. It was crazy day at work . I don't even have time to eat my lunch. I even leave the office late. But I am so thankful that is over now. And also thankful that I got home before it rains. Right now it's pouring so hard outside plus there's lightning and thunder.

Facing the Giants

Me and my husband works different shift lately. Sometimes we don't even have time to talk to each other. He's in a swing shift and I tell you what, it's not fun for both of us. There were times that when he gets home I am already sleeping, ( 11:30 pm ) And by the time I have to left for work, my husband is still asleep. And when I come home he already left the house for work. But he was off yesterday and today he doesn't have to go to work until 11 pm . So after the gym, we decided to just watch a movie together. I think for the last couple of weeks, we've never turn the TV on.

Anyway, he was the one who choose what kind of movie we are going to watch and he chose FACING the GIANTS. This is a story of a person who couch the high school football team ,the Shiloh Eagles. He has been a coach for this team for 6 years but never leads his team to a winning season. "When faced with seemingly insurmountable professional and personal crisis, the idea of giving up has never come easier. It's only after an unexpected visitor challenges him to trust in the power of faith that he discovers the strength to persevere." This is a movie about faith , about trusting God , nothing is impossible with God.

After watching the movie , I asked my husband why he chooses this one. And his reply was I was just so depressed by that news about what happened in California today. If you're following the news, you might know what happened in California today. And as a Christian , we are saddened by it.

Power of A Mother's Influence

Yesterday was Mother's day. This is the day where we celebrate the day of the most influential woman in our lives, OUR MOTHERS!

In a family, the father is the head of the household, while the mother is the heart of the home. I just wanted to share some of the most popular or well known mothers in the Bible. And how these women affects the lives of their children. Let me put it in three category:

Mother's life

Rebekah- I think most of us knew who Rebekah is. She is Isaac's wife, Jacobs and Esau's mother. And I think we all know how she deceived her husband just so her favorite son Jacob can have a blessing. Although it was already prophesied that Jacob will be great, but Rebekah became impatient and she went too far to secure the blessings. When Isaac was getting ready to bless Esau, Rebekak dressed Jacob like Esau. What an example a mother can show to her son. An example of deceitfulness. And because of that bad example, Jacob has to flee and wasn't even able to see her mother until she dies. How sad. Rebekah is a woman of a bad example.

But on the other hand , we see Moses mother. When Pharaoh ordered to kill all the little boy . Moses mother hid him , she made a basket and sealed it so that the won't drown. What a picture of a Godly example.

Mother's Lips

Herodias was a a bad example to her daughter. When King Herod celebrated his birthday , Herodias daughter danced and it pleased him and he told her that she could ask whatever she wants and he will give it to her. Her mom told her to tell the king that she wants to have John the Baptist's head on the platter.

Then here is John's mother, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a righteous and Godly woman . And she dedicated her son the work of God. John was a different man, separated his life from the world. Elizabeth was total opposite person of Herodias!

Mother's Love

A mother will have a desire to share the faith to her children. Her love for her children can be revealed through her prayers and medication. Just like the woman in Mark 7:26 . She continued to plead and prayed until her daughter received healing.

I know my mother prays for me all the time. I know that she's been praying for my safety and good health, and also that I continue to live a godly life.

How about you? What kind of mother are you ? Are you like Rebekah that shows a bad example to her son or are you like Moses' mother? What are you teaching your children ? Are you teaching them by showing a godly life, or giving them example through our lips?

I don't have a child yet, and I am longing to have one. And I have been asking God to bless me even with just one child. And just like Hannah ( I Samuel 1:27-28 ) . I know that one day at His time He will bless me. And oh , what a glorious day would that be.

Ladies in Blue

As I was browsing pictures in the computer , I saw this one. This is me and Haley Elizabeth. This picture was taken last year on Mothers Day. Haley is such a beautiful girl with a very beautiful light blue green eyes. I didn't realized that we are both wearing blue, until I uploaded the pictures :)

Mahi Mahi

This is my supper tonight. Isn't it yummy? Rice and fish are the 2 most favorite foods of mine. I can eat these foods everyday and won't complain about it. I even eat rice for breakfast. A lot of people told me that I have to minimize my rice intake because it's not good for me. But I don't see anything wrong with it. They said that if I keep eating rice that I will gain weight. Oh well.

Anyway , this fish is called mahi mahi. I just marinate this with silver swan soy sauce and lemon and a little garlic , then bake it. It's really good. Although I eat a lot of rice, I have to make sure that I also eat lot of vegetables and fruits. And of my favorite is broccoli. AS you can see , I have rice , fish and broccoli :)

I have not been home since I been in the US. And I really miss my family especially my parents. I miss my mama so much. To all mothers out there , Happy Mothers Day.

Wimbledon 2008

I am a very fond of sports. As long as I can remember I have been involved in different kind of sports. Wether in school or even at a youth gathering at church. But then after college , I went to Cebu and work there. I still love sports, but because I am busy with my job, instead of being in a team . I just watch sports on TV. One of my favorite sports to watch is tennis. One of my favorite player is Martina Hingis. I have seen her played several times in the US open and in the Wimbledon. Last year's champion in the ladies singles in Venus Williams. This is actually her fourth title in 8 years. Wow, amazing isn't it.

Wimbledon's tournament this year will be held on June 23rd to July 6th. Watching them on TV is fun but I think it's more exciting when you watch them live. It's really different when you were watching them with the crowds. Right now, Wimbledon tennis tickets is available online. Something Nice from Google

Guess what I received last week! A checque from Google. I was surprised when I opened the mail which I thought was just another junk mail. I think I already have that mail for about 3 days and then I finally opened it. And to my surprise it was a check from google. WOW. Amazing!!! This check is from the Google Adsense. I still have no deposited the check though, maybe I should wait for another one he he he.My husband told me to make sure I make a copy before depositing it for my record , and for tax purposes. I am hoping that my next surprise from google will be a page rank. That would be wonderful. To the people who click the ads in my blog, thank you so much.

Certified Teacher

I'm just done chatting with my sister . Wow! It's already 1 a.m. We were talking about everything, our parents, siblings , etc!

Then all of a sudden she told me to go to the PRC website to check the LET passers . She and eight of our neighbors went to Zamboanga City to take the teachers board exams. They don't have a testing center in Pagadian City. It was held on April 6 and the result was released on April 30. Among the 9 of them , she was the only one who passed the exams. Praise God! She was really excited and happy about it. And can't wait to tell our parents the good news ,but on the other hand she doesn't know how to tell her other examinees the sad news. Of course they will be devastated, they spend money and time only to find out that they didn't make it.
