It has been quite a while since I updated my blog. There were so many things going on, well, much of it are about works, and families.
We are now settled in the home that God has provided me and my husband. Although we still have a bunch of boxes that are not opened it. Well, most of them are books and dishes. I think we have so much dishes for two people . LOL
Anyway, my sister is staying with me now. One morning my husband made a comment as to why my sister is awake before 6 am . I told him that I always wake her up so we can eat breakfast together. Yes, wake her up around 5:30 am so we can eat .
Well, it's Saturday and me and my sister are going to go shopping and I am sure it's going to be fun!

Variety of People
Some people are like wheels- they don't work until they're pushed.
Some people are like trailers- they have to be pulled.
Some people are like kites- always up in the air, and if you don't keep a string on them, they fly away.
Some people are like canoes - they have to be paddled.
Some people are like footballs- you never know which way they are going to bounce next.
Some people are like balloons - always puffed up, and you never know when they are going to blow up.
Some people are like flat tires - they have to be jacked up.
Some people are like good watches- pure gold, open faced, always on time, dependable , quietly busy and just full of goods works!
I cannot say I am like a good watch. :) Although I am dependable, there are times that I am not on time.
So...which one are you ?

Shoveling our Driveway on Christmas Day!
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas.
We got up a little bit late this morning, that's because we went to bed late last night. After our candle light service at Church last night we went to one of the church member to have a Christmas dinner. We had a great time.
My husband and I had a quite morning. He made a nice breakfast , and after our breakfast we open our gifts to each other. Then after that , we went outside and shovel the driveway. We don't own a snow blower so we have to do it manually. Whoahh... Shoveling was fun. ..... Not!

Late for work due to Winter Storm
Winter is here! ( Technically it starts on December 21) .While lots of people are in Copenhagen for the global climate summit? Back in the US winter storm is here.
So my husband and I got up early this morning. My husband needs to shovel the driveway. I was really planning to leave early for work.It took me an hour and half to get home yesterday. I decided not to leave early as it is still very dark outside plus it's still snowing and the wind gust is about 40 miles per hour. I turned the TV on to see how bad the traffic is, and yes it's really bad , a lot of accidents and spin outs.
My husband advised me to call someone at work , I told him , it's too early to call. So I logged in to my work remotely and send e-mails to my supervisor which by the way is in the east coast. I already got lots of e-mails on my work inbox and I am glad that I can access it from home.

Boycott Best Buy
"I should have listen to my friends". When my husband and I are getting ready to move in to our new home, we started looking for a washer and dryer. We went to a lot of places and somehow we ended up buying one from Best Buy ( should be called that store WORST BUY) .
So we bought our washer and dryer on October 30, they delivered it on November 17. I tried to use it for the first time on November 22 only to find out that it was not working. I called Best Buy(worst buy) and told them about it and I even asked the guy. " DID YOU DELIVER A FAULTY WASHER TO US THAT WAS BEING RETURNED TO YOU ? His reply, is WE DON"T DO THAT? He gave me the Geek Squad people and they schedule a repair ( yes repair on a brand new washer ) on Wednesday November 25. My husband has to take a half day off from work , because they cannot schedule after 4pm . ( how inconvenient ) . As soon as I came home from work , I asked my husband if the washer is now working and he told me it's not and that they have to order a new part. So they reschedule it for today December 2 . I took a half day off from work , and guess what when I got home , check the voice mail and found out that they have to reschedule it again because the parts hasn't arrived yet. Yes, my blood was boiling earlier that is why I am NO LONGER buying anything from BEST(WORST) BUY!

We're finally moved in
I have been planning to ( should I say procrastinating ) to post. LOL . It has been more than three week since after we closed on the house that God has blessed us with . But we really didn't moved in right away. It was just a slow moved.
Every night for one week my husband and I will take boxes to the house from the apartment where we used to lived. And when it's time for us to move our furniture , men from church were helping my husband. That was really nice of them.
More than 3 weeks had passed and I only halfway done unpacking . That is why I don't like moving. Packing and unpacking takes so much time. I can't really do a lot when I come home from work because I still have to cook for supper and clean up afterwards. I am done moving. Since I have been here in the US , we moved about 5 times. When we moved from South Carolina to Minnesota last year, it was not a big deal . We had a mover who packed everything for us.
I still have not taken any pictures of the new house . Maybe one day :)

Busy Monday
I have been having a 3 days weekend for the last four weeks now. I have 4 days vacation left and I need to use it before October 21 . I decided to take vacation on every Monday for the last 4 weeks. Well, for the last 3 Mondays , I wasn't really doing anything. I was just being lazy after all , it is my vacation day.
But today is a different story, not only that I am busy doing lots of laundry I will also continue packing our stuffs. I have packed all our movies and some of the books last Saturday. I will packing the rest of the books today and start packing our kitchen stuff ( plates, glasses , etc ) . Aside from laundry and packing, I will calling be utility companies as well, ( electric, gas, waste management , water, phone & internet ) . I will probably include a cable when I call ? LOL . Yes my husband and I do not have cable ( we're still living in a stone age era.. ha ha ha ) .
So long everyone, let me continue doing my house chores and packing . ( Would be nice if we have a movers this time )

I love Orchids
Friday evening is usually the time that I stayed up late and chat with my family. But not last night. They weren't online last night. I still stayed a little bit late though. My husband went to bed around 8:30 I think because he has to get up early. I didn't go to bed until 11:44 pm. I was blog hopping last night and also dropping some EC cards. ( I actually missed doing so )
It was so quite last night that I can hear my own breath. While blog hopping and dropping EC's. I remember my father, I really do miss my family in the Philippines especially my father. Even my husband noticed that I mentioned my father a lot than my mother . I think it's because I am closer to my father than to my mother.
My father loves orchids, and I do too. My father has a lot of orchids when I was growing up,while my mother likes to plant roses ,daisy and bougainvillea. ( I think it's strange for a man who plants and takes care of orchids ) . But my father loves the orchids. Let's see what Orchids say about me :)
Your Orchids Say You're Very Elegant |
![]() You are exotic and intricately beautiful. You possess a unique grace that's both delicate and strong. You are thoughtful and refined. You are the definition of class. Some people may find you unapproachable, but it's only their lack of confidence speaking. |

Snow in October?
You would not believe it , Minnesota has been greatly affected with global warming . ( NOT ) . Well, Saturday October 10,2009, we already have snow. And forecast says, we'll have about 1-3 inches tomorrow. Yes, snow in October. The winter does not officially begin until December 21, but winter comes early in Minnesota , or I can call this state MANYSNOWTA!
This must be a very long winter for us, Brrrr... I don't even remember having a real summer this year. We still had snow in April. This is gonna be a big mess on the road, you see there are still a lot of road construction going on, and traffic in the rush hour pretty bad and I am sure it will get worsts. ( I still don't know why they call it " rush" hour when everybody is driving slow , LOL ) . And it's not fun driving in the snow, unless you are driving a snowmobile .

Update
Wow, I can't believe I ignored this blog for almost a month now. No updates, not even logging into it. The thing is I was a little busy with house hunting , going to a ball game and of course playing farm town LOL .
Like I said in my previous posts, we have been faithfully looking for a house. But every time we find something that interests us, someone snaps it right away. There was this house that we really like, it's a 3 year old house and yes I love the features and everything. We told our realtor that we are going to make an offer , she made some phone calls to the listing agents and asked what needs to be done. She told us we get a cashier's check for an earnest money ? So my husband and I went to the bank to get a cashier's check. While at the bank , our agent called us and informed us that there's 8 offers in the house already ! The house was only in the market for 3 days and there's already a lot of offers. So we decided not to compete.
I found this new construction house and we told her that we wanted to make an offer and last week we signed tons of paperworks and we also chose the color of the wall, carpet, the kitchen counter and everything. The house will be completed next month . So excited about it!
Please pray for us , that everything will be smooth .

Glad To Be Home
After a week of being away , I am so happy to be home. I was in North Carolina for training.I have to admit that I love to travel, but it's weird to travel by yourself. Todd and I like to do things together. But there are times that we need to do things by ourselves.
I have never been to our corporate office, and it's nice to see people that you talked to on the phone most of the time.
And not only that , I also had a chance to see some of the people that I worked with while we were still living in Charleston .
We had a very hectic schedule, but it was fun. It's fun to learn new things .

The dead guy's house
Okay.. so my husband and I have been house hunting for several weeks now. You can hear it on the news that this is a buyers market. Well.... not so in Minnesota . As soon as we find something that we like, someone already bid or made an offer on it. ( I wish the same thing happens in Columbus ,where the housing market is bad . We still have our house in Ohio that we can't sell )
Our realtor told us that if we find something interesting online , let them know..then we go look at it. So I found this house that has 1o acres land and wanted to see it.
So , on the morning of July 4th we went to look the house. It was an older house, but my husband likes it because of the land. I don't really care for the land though, the bigger the land , the bigger the maintenance .
We looked around the land first and then got into the house. Me and Jennifer( our realtors are husband and wife team , this is their sideline job ) . So Jenny and I went to the living room while my husband and Jenny's husband were in the kitchen when all of a sudden , my husband says " Dusty , this might be the first time you experience this, then he showed him the urn and it is not empty. That was actually my first time to see something like that. Therefore, we nicknamed the house " the dead guy's house " . Ask if I want to live in that house ? Heck NO!
