It's game time

I always love to watch sports movies.Wether it's about baseball , football or hockey. I love to watch them over and over again. My all time favorites are Remember the Titans and The Mighty Ducks. I think I have watched Remember the Titans more than 20 times already.

And tonight me and my husband went to watch a minor hockey game between the South Carolina Stingrays and Columbia Inferno. We never really know who to root for, so we really don't care who will win , he he he.. But we end up rooting for the Stingrays since most of their players are from Minnesota. My husband is from Minnesota and he loves everything about that state.

Anyway, back to the game, during the first period the Stingrays scored first. And before the period was over the Inferno scored too. Second period, the Stingrays scored and they are leading , but then on the last period.. the Inferno scored again and they are now leading. I was like come on , Stingrays.. get the puck , get the puck !! It really seems hopeless, game is over almost, there was only 20 seconds left, then the Stingrays scored.. Whoahhhh.. What a way to do business. It was tied and they have to go overtime.. wow.. and they did WIN. Yes , I had a great time .

Happy Friday

T.G.I. F. Thank God It's Friday. I am so excited it's Friday, and so am looking to sleep in until maybe 10 a.m. on Saturday. I am still not feeling well, my throat is still hurt from coughing and I still got this allergy from pollen. It's not fun to sneeze and cough at the same time ( I guess , lol ) . My husband told me that to keep drinking lemon with honey to help my sore throat. And last night before I go to bed he make sure that I take the Nyquil so that I won't keep coughing, although I am already taking my cough medicine. I told him I don't wanna take the Nyquil because it has a Cherry flavor in it and I dont like the smell and the taste. He said.. so you prefer dried fish than Cherry .. I think that was funny that he compares dried fish and cherry.

Well.. got to go work.. Happy Friday everyone !!!!

Wordless Wednesday

Stubborn me

To all my fellow bloggers , sorry if I have not been visiting to your blog sites lately. I really wanted to make sure that I get to visit all the links that I have, but I am sick again. While my husband was out of the country I had a really bad cough and a flu. I went to the doctor and the doctor gave 2 meds that I have to take until the bottle is empty. Well, it was actually for 10 days. After 4 days of taking my meds, I stopped.. my reason was. I am already feeling better.

When my husband came back from South Korea, he got sick too. Even though he had flu shots this year, he still got sick. He's also coughing. He said that a lot of people at his work are sick and at the church, people were sick too.

I thought I am already well, then Sunday morning ( Easter Sunday ) I started sneezing, I am not the kind of person who sneezes a lot. And then that was followed by a runny nose and coughing. Then my husband said " looks like you will have a second round of sickness this year. You were sick while I was gone , and now you started coughing again . " Then he asked me " Did you finished your medication "? Then I said , NO . Then he told me, " You are really stubborn Beth , You don't take your vitamins and now you're not taking your medications , how are you going to get well" ? Yes, I was scolded for being a stubborn .

My Saturday

As always, I got up late this morning. Saturday is normally my sleep in a little longer day :) And besides I always go to bed late on Friday evening because that is the time that I am chatting with my family in the Philippines. Not much really going on today. Aside from doing household chores and of course sitting in front of the computer either chatting my friends or updating something in my blog.

Btw, I just bought a new domain, I will be changing from blogger to my own custom domain name . I am so excited :) As soon as it is up.. I will let you all know .

Almost all people likes to eat seafoods, especially the oyster. We even have oyster roast in our area. In fact, the company where I work gave us a free ticket to go to an oyster roast gathering. I love the oyster too. But then I found this website called Gulf oysters. The Moment I have been waiting for

I got an unexpected e-mail today. And guess what it's coming from? It's from Payperpost!!!They're telling me that my blogs has been approved. Finally, after some weeks of waiting, they approved my blog. Isn't it wonderful that as you are so tired from work and then when you come home and read your e-mail , you've received a good news? I am so excited.

I actually started writing blog last year, but I am not that active. But then my friend from NC told me that I can make money by blogging. A Controversial Lovely Lilac

I had somewhat a funny /embarassing experienced this afternoon. After working out, I saw this lilac which is in the beginning of the blossoming season. So I said to my husband, oh I am going to take pictures. ( I always have my camera with me even if I just go to the gym , yes me and my camera are together all the time ) . I did take pictures and when I am done taking pictures and was heading towards the car, I was stopped by the base police. Opppsss. Am I in trouble? What did I do this time ? LOL .

He said he wanted to see the pictures that I took. I said okay, and after seeing the pictures he said.. will you erase this one , and that one . He was saying that I cannot take pictures of the infrastructures on the base. I got one picture left ( the not so pretty one , sigh ) . There was no sign posted there, so how do I know that taking pictures inside the military base is prohibited ?

Is it Worth it ?

It's been weeks since I got approved by Smorty. After my blogs were approved I went to check if there are some new opps for me. And yes there are 2 thats been waiting for me to grab it. But I decided not to. The opps are about online gambling and I don't feel that as a Christian I would be writing about this type of thing. I wanted to live my life as good testimony to other people . And I don't think it is right for me who claims to be a follower of Christ , and then on the other hand write something that I think it is against the will of God .

Since then , I have not received any opps from Smorty. But it's alright. I really believed that I am doing the right thing for refusing that 2 opps. I don't want to be a compromiser. How about you ? Do you think it's worth it?

Don't Forget the Lyrics

Another good episode of the " Don't forget the Lyrics " tonight. Stephen is the name of the contestant tonight. I think he is a good singer. And aside from singing and being a good pianist, he can also dance. Yes he even showed Wayne his robot dance :)

I thought he is going to win a million or maybe half a million dollar because he seemed to know the lyrics. He already had $ 200 grand and was singing for the $350 grand. But then , ONE WORD... just one word made him go home with just $ 25 thousand. Oh well, he is not destined to win that the three hundred thousand dollars from that show.

A NOT SO FUN TUESDAY

I asked my husband last night if he could wake me up early this morning . I was planning to be at the office as early as possible because I know that I have lots of stuff that needs to be done, as I was out yesterday.

As I was about 5 miles from my workplace, the traffic started to backed up. I actually saw a sign saying the " Clements Ferry Road North is closed, use ATL route "So I called our office and was able to talked to one of my co employee. I asked him what's going on and he said there was a bad accident on that road and advise me to just take a different route. A route that I have not been. He only told me to use this exit and follow this road , until you see this road. Geezzzz. So that's what I did. I was thinking if I get lost, then I will just go back . But as I looked at the opposite direction the traffic started to slows down too .So I went ahead and continue my morning adventure. And sure enough.. everybody was taking that route which makes the traffic go really slow.

I called my husband around 8:30 and told him that I have not in the office yet. He was wondering where I am since I left the house before 7 am. I told him I was glad I have lots of gas in the car, and then he said, "yes you're burning a gas that's more than 3 dollars a gal". Gas isn't cheap this time.

At 9 am , I finally got into the office..late for an hour and a half. Huh.. what a morning. I found that the accident involved a tractor trailer and an SUV. The driver of an SUV who is a 52 year old man died. And as the news said they are still investigating on what really happened.

When I had an accident last July, I thought I was going to die that time , but thank God for another chance to live.

Healthy Lunch ?

Today is a busy day for me. Doing some organizing before hubby gets home. I was supposed to make chop suey and rice for lunch , but I forgot to thaw the meat. So I decided to just eat whatever I can find in the kitchen. Then I found these fruits .So my lunch today is mango, grapes and strawberry . I love fruits and I do make sure that I bought fruits every time I go grocery shopping . Fruits and vegetables are some of my favorite foods .

Did this happened to you, or is it just me ?

I have been in the US for almost 5 years now. We lived in Columbus Ohio when I first got here. But that was only like 2 months and then we moved down south. At first I really don't like it here. But as time passes by , I have learned to like this place, especially during the winter. We don't have snow here, so I guess that's really good for me . I hate cold weather.

When I was just new in the US, I get so excited to see Filipinos at the store. I am a very friendly person. And I talk a lot too. So everytime I saw a Filipino looking person, I normally approach them . At first I have to asked them if they're Filipino or not. If they are , then I would start talking, blah blah blah. But that's it. We don't exchange phone numbers and other infos.

I already heard a story before that there are some pinays or pinoys who are snob. But I really did not believe it until I encountered them myself. One time I was at Walmart, ( at the seafood section ) there were two pinays who were also looking for seafoods displayed. They were talking tagalog, so I know that they are really Filipino. ( I normally don't start the conversation unless I make sure ) . I asked something , and both of them just looked at me like they saw some scary stuff. LOL . They looked at me from head to toe, then they left. So I said to myself, am I that scary? LOL . I think those women are in their 50's so "may kulubot na talaga sila " .

Then the next incident happened at Ross Store. There were 3 filipinas who are also talkin tagalog and they're looking at the dresses, tops, jeans , etc. They were talking loud. When they got near me, I said " Kumusta " ( how are you ) . Then they said, okay. Then they turn their back on me and they started talking in English . ( I really don't mind if they're talking in English as long as they don't have a very heavy Filipino accent). So I just said to myself, okay whatever. Then I started looking at the displayed merchandise again. While they think I am away from them, ( they're really short people , they weren't able to see me ) , they started talking in tagalog again. So I purposely went to their direction, and as soon as they saw me they started speaking English again. Geezzz.. Oh well. Since then , if I see Pinays at the store.. I just ignore them. I was already being ignored twice . And isn't is sad?

Me and My Guitar

Today , I feel so lonely and alone. I can't wait for my husband to come home. I am already started counting the days. He will be arriving on Sunday, March 09. My typical weekdays are home, work , home, work .. and that's it. I haven't been to the gym lately because I was sick. I am planning to start going back to the gym tomorrow.

Anyway,after I eat my supper this evening. I was like.. Oh gosh ,I don't know what to do . It's so quite here. Then I remember my guitar. It has been awhile that I haven't played my guitar. And tonight I feel like I wanted to play it. I learn how to play guitar when I was 13. Two of my high school classmates brought their guitar at school everyday. And after lunch , we hang out under a big Acacia tree and played the guitar. They're so nice that they let us used it and they even teach us how to play it.

I really wanted to have my own guitar, but my parents cannot afford it. There are many important things in life than a guitar . So whenever I wanted to play, I will just borrow one from my cousin and also our Pastor will let me borrow the church guitar too .

My husband knows how much I love to play , and he thought that when I get to the US that would be the first thing that I wanted him to buy for me. But I didn't ask him to buy me one. " There are more important things in life than buying a guitar", that's what I said. Then on my birthday, he bought me one. Now I have my OWN first guitar. And I love it.
