Girls Day Out

Our church had a spring day spa and brunch and me and my friend Marie went there. Clavelene was supposed to go with us, but she wasn't feeling well. I understand, with this crazy weather that we have in SC almost everybody I know here got sick. They either have a strep , or a flu or cough and cold and allergy. And aside from this weather my friend Clavelene is also pregnant with her second baby. And they just found out that she is having a baby boy. They are a complete family now , with daughter and a son . I am so happy for her and I am praying that she will have a healthy pregnancy.

Well back to the topic, so it's just me and Marie who went there. We met at the mall and she just ride with me to the church. We arrived there kind of late, but still we enjoyed our stay there. She had her manicure done while I had a massage, oh that was great. And of course I love the brunch that they prepare for everybody. One thing I like being a Christian and especially being a Southern Baptist is , we always eat LOL.

Load up the Pantry

When my husband is home, we usually do our grocery shopping every other weekend. When it's just me, I just do it once a month. We normally don't buy stuff in bulk because like I said it's me and him. But now , I think buying grocery in bulk is a good idea especially that the prices of all commodities are skyrocketed. We always go to the commissary for our grocery because it's cheaper than Wal mart or any other grocery stores nearby. But lately , I have noticed that the price of a 20 lbs rice ( I always buy 20 lbs of Jasmine Rice ) have gone up from $ 8.00 to to about $ 11.00. Pretty big change ha.

When the oil prices will rise up , everything follows. We use oil to transport everything. The prices of eggs, cereals, flour, even fruits and vegetables. My husband even joked from work , we just stayed home and eat just once a day. I told him , I can't do that ! lol

As we are going to buy groceries today, we are going to buy canned vegetables, fruits, canned foods , rice and some other foods in bulk . I love Sunsets

A gift

My husband and I have a little chit chat tonight. Lately we were both busy with our jobs. Especially that they are on a swing shift. This started like 2 weeks ago. So there are times that we don't see each other until the next day. We were just talking about how we've met and how grateful we are to have each other. Everyday I thank God for giving me a wonderful husband. Todd is truly a gift from God.

Botanical Gardens

One of my favorite hangout when I was growing up is climbing the mango tree near the river. We live in a farm where we have our own river. I can say that it's our own river because that river is by my parents land . That river helps water my parents rice field and other vegitations. And I really miss that place. I miss being in the place where you are sorrounding with natures. Everything is fresh, the air , the fruits and vegetables.

Now that I am in the US, I have not really enjoy being sorrounded with the beauty of nature as I used to . Until I found this website Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center . Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center is located in Orange Texas. This formal Botanical Gardens contains more than 300 plant species in five five formal rooms as well as four sculptur rooms. Adjacent to the Botanical Garden is a bird blind which allows the visitors to observe nesting birds in Shangri La's heronry.

I have not really been to Texas, but I am really hoping that one day me and my husband could travel there. And I know one thing for sure, we are going to visit Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center. This place is not only a very awesome place. Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center is the first project in Texas and the 50th project in the world to earn the US GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL'S PLATINUM FOR LEED®-NC , as well as the echo friendly nature and history of Shagri La Gardens in Orange Texas. Reading this review gives me more motivation to go visit this place one of these days. I think it's really exciting to go visit this place. I can't wait to see the different kinds of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, spiders. ( I used to play spiders when I was growing up ) . And most of all to see the different kinds of plants and flowers .

I KILLED a...

I got up early for church today. I actually got up 30 minutes like I used to do. I have to picked up someone for church. I thought I will be picking up for 4 people to ride going to church. But there's only two of them. A young man and his grandma. We live 40 miles from the church we attend to.

So anyway, as we like 3 miles away from church there was a squirrel on the road . I think the squirrel doesn't know what to do . The squirrel was in the middle of the road as I was approaching going 65 mph. I heard that a lot of people got into an accident because they are trying to avoid an animal on the road. Maybe the squirrel thought that I am going to avoid him/her. But I just drive straight hitting and killing him. The boy said, " you just killed the squirrel!" . I said I rather kill the squirrel than being killed, and this is actually the first time I killed a squirrel . Then her granda said, " and on our way to church". I have been laughing about what just I did.

I think many of us saw that commercial of an insurance company where the two squirrel are doing the high five.

Family Circle Cup

Ever since I was in the Philippines , I have been watching Tennis matches already. I had wish that one I would be able to watch it live. And today that wish came to reality, when I went to The FAMILY CIRCLE CUP. One of our sales rep gave me two tickets for the semi-finals match for today. ( tickets are not cheap ha ).That was supposed to be for me and for my husband. But my husband has to go to work today. I tried to call my Pinay friend , but no answer ( she must have been sleeping still ). I really wanted to watch the game and don't want to just waste the ticket, so I decided to go by myself. You might think, it's crazy , but hey, I used to go to a movie theater and watch movie by myself. I sure glad I went, although I have nobody to talk while I was there .

I arrived at the stadium before the game started, so I went to look for my seat and just enjoy the game. First they have the doubles semi finals, and after that the singles. Even if I went there by myself, I had a grand day :)

There's Alize in action! She is only 18 years old from Romania. Became a pro tennis player in 2006. She lost to Serena , I think she still have plenty of time to make it to the finals.

At three 3:15 pm, getting ready to go home , but before I went home I stopped by some place to buy me some sushi!!!. I really am starving at this moment, good thing I ate breakfast today.

My Fabulous Hair Cut :)

I always have long hair since High School, I like my hair long. I had it cut several times too, but not really short. When I got married my husband doesn't want me to cut my hair anymore. And when I got to the US, I have not cut it for about 2 years, then while my husband was away, I had it cut and donated to the " locks of love" . I think a lot of you heard about this organization already.

My hair grows really fast and I am planning to have it cut again. But still my husband doesn't want me to cut it ,until one day I tricked him and he said YES. LOL . That was back in December, I am hesitant to have it cut . And then last Saturday, I did it ! Anf course I donated my hair again !

Visit Boston

When I was a child, one of my dream is to go to the Harvard University. But I said to myself, that there's no way I would be able to realize that dream. I didn't even know where Harvard is . I just saw a lot of people wearing Harvard University T-Shirt . And besides, how am I going to go there when I live very far . They said that Harvard is in Boston MA. But now that I am already in the US, I am sure that dream will come true one of these days.

I told my husband that we should go to Boston . And I know that while we are there we will enjoy our stay there. There are so many Things to do in Boston. One thing that I am going to visit with is the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.I really don't have talents for arts, but it always fascinates me to see these wonderful work of art.

While in Boston ,take advantage of their sightseeing tours . There are so many nice places to see while in Boston , if you love seeing sunsets you can take advantage of Boston Harbor Sunset Cruise and Tours. Little Bird - Wordless Wednesday

I saw this bird at a parking lot while I was waiting for my husband . This is the only bird in that parking lot , while maybe 500 meters away, there were a flock of birds. Seems like this litle bird is lost. I was joking to my husband that if I wanted to have a pet , that I want a bird. But he said , birds are kind of noisy ???

Embarrassing Moment

Now I will be talking about " moments" . All of us have our moments, wether it be an exciting moment, happy moment , sad moment, self pity moment , etc. But today I have my moment too, an embarrassing one. While I was at work , I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and for some reason , I forgot to lock the door. Well ,I said to myself I am just washing my hands anyway, but then Ive changed my mind, nature is calling. So I just sit on the toilet, not thinking that the door is unlocked. And boommm... my officemate push the door. And I said .. ahhhhhh.. really loud, as in everybody in the office hears my scream. And then girl scream too , cover her face and ran away.

Sushi

For some reason , I was craving for a sushi and some thai foods tonight. So after the gym , my husband and I went to a Thai Restaurant. When we got there I ordered my favorite Spicy Tuna.. yummy.. I ate all the sushi plus I also have some Lemon grass chicken . After workign out , went out to eat LOL.

I signed up for PPP!

Yesterday I got an e-mail from PPP , that my blog has been approved. I am so excited because I finally I got their big nod. I submitted my blog about a week ago, and I keep checking my e-mail to see if they already approve it, but nothing from PPP yet.

Actually, I started having a blog last year, but I wasn't really serious about it. I think I only have a total of five posts for the whole 2007. I wish I have known that I can make money out of blogging back then, because on my free time I just chat,I think that was really the best time that I could concentrate on blogging as I am by myself most of the time. My husband was always away for the past four years that I have been in the US.

I always log in to Smorty when I get home from work and I have just read that Smorty just launched a Post Exchange Beta, which can help bloggers get more traffic. I am hoping that through this post exchange from Smorty, I will get more traffic into my blogs. Right now I am writing about a blog by this Chinese lady who got married to an Indian man. I really found it interesting to know or to met people from another country, even through blogging only.

Worst Cities for Allergy

I am always looking forward for spring time. I like to see the flowers bloom , the trees leaves turning to green, the grass grows, and the weather is really beautiful especially if your live in the south. But there is one thing I don't like about the Spring Season, the POLLEN. I don't remember having an sinus problem before , but eve since we live in SC every spring, I got sick due to the pollen, I got really bad allergy it keeps me sneeze and sneeze , it's not funny!



This year a lof of people got sick weather at church or at work or at school. I think one of the reason of this is this pollen . I thought that Charleston SC is the worst city when it comes to pollen , but I was wrong. The number one worst city is actually Lexington KY ? WOW, I thought Pollen is a southern thing. I was chatting with my sister 2 nights ago and she was telling me how expensive the rice in the Philippines now. And it seems like the Philippine government is not doing anything about this situation.

In the last 42 years, covering five administrations, the country — endowed with 14 million hectares of agricultural lands — had been more of an importer than an exporter of rice, its main staple. This means that the rice that we produced in our own country is not enough for us?

I grew up in a farm where we plant corn, rice and any other vegetations. So we really don't have to worry about buying rice or corn . Because my father makes sure that we have enough to get through the next harvest. But when I was already working and have to live away from my parents that when I started buying rice. Rice during that time was not that expensive. Compare to the price of rice now.

Olivia's Birthday

Rain Rain Go Away

I am getting ready to leave the house for my friend's daughter's birthday. Olivia Ryss is 2 years today. She is going to have her birthday party at the Chuck E Cheese. I have not been to Chuck E Cheese, so I am really excited to go there.

But then .. it's pouring! . I know rain means blessings, abundant blessings :) . When me and my husband where about to go out for dinner on my birthday last Tuesday, it was pouring too.And now as I am going to attend a birthday party, it's raining again. I am hoping this rain would stop soon as I don't like to drive when it's raining. Oh well, I guess I just have to wait for a few more minutes.

My 36th Birthday

April 1 is my birthday. Some people told me that my mother got fooled when she had me . LOL . I think it's because April 1st is April fools day. But anyway, yesterday I was celebrating my 36th birthday. Someone at my work asked me how old I am , and I told her that I am " sweet sixteen" but she just have to add 20 years ha ha ha.

I had a good birthday, I got of well wishers. Denise from work bought me a cake and they also gave book a very inspiring book , and a gift card. And of course my husband had several gifts for me .

My husband and I went to a Japanese Steak house and Seafood Restaurant . We were supposed to watch a movie after we eat, but when we got to the movie theater , they don't have any good movies that were being showed. So we decided to just rent a movie, and then ended up watching a Filipino movie on the computer :)

I have so much to be grateful for. I may not have the best car, the best house in the world and all other material things, but I got so much to be thankful for.
