Father / Daughter Talk

I just wanted to share this e-mail that was being forwarded to me. Just let me know what you think about this. Actually my husband and I decided not to talk about politics until the election is over. We decided to stop reading the news because we believe that the medias are bias. We won't talk about it, but We'll pray about it! Here's the story;

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like
so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal
Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of
higher taxes to support more government programs; in other words
redistribution of wealth.


She was deeply ashamed that
her father was a rather staunch Republican,
a feeling she openly
expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and
the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had
for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought
should be his.


One day she was challenging her father on his
opposition to higher taxes
on the rich and the need for more
government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by
her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her
father.

He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a
4.0 G PA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting
that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly
studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other
people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and
didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her
time studying.


Her father listened and then asked, "How is your
friend Audrey doing?"


She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy
classes, she never studies, and she barely has a
2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast.
She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she
doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."


Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's
office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your
friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and
certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."


The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily
fired back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've
worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a
lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree.
She played while I worked my tail off!"


The father
slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the
Republican party."

Leg Warmers

As I was driving to work this morning, I heard on the radio that we might have a snow shower this Sunday. And I am not ready for it yet . I still have to buy winter stuffs. I am looking for a leg warmer and cuff and guess what , I found what I need at rave clothing store . Yes, they do have furry legwarmers and fuzzy wrist cuffs. My body Is Sore

Happy Friday everyone. I am sure you are all excited that weekend is here once again. I am excited that weekend is here although I am kind of sad as my one week vacation is over. On Monday it's back to normal.

While I am on vacation, I decided to get back to the gym. I really missed going to the gym regularly. I used to go to the gym almost everyday when we were still living in Charleston. I have been to the gym regularly for the first few weeks that we arrived here in MN, but I stopped going when I had that stomach problem. Now I am back to working out and my whole body is kind of sore but not as bad as I thought. I will be changing my routine from now on. When I get home from work, instead of sitting in front of the computer, I will go to the gym. I hope I could discipline myself :)

Huh! Visiting almost all the links in my blog takes a lot of time. But since I got plenty of time I decided to visit them today and see if my blog is listed on their blog rolls. If I don't see mine, I will delete them. So far I have deleted about 45 blogs on my blog rolls. Why would I link them if they don't link me? When I visited their blogs, I either left a message on their shout box or drop them an EC. I don't think I have to say, " OH, I DON'T SEE MY NAME ON YOUR BLOG ROLL, PLEASE ADD ME". If I am not on their blog, that means they don't like my blog. So, why would I beg them to link me up?

Ladies in Pink

Last night I was uploading pictures to a store's website to print, I happened to found this picture of me and my two best friends back in Charleston SC. This picture was taken last year during Olivia's first birthday. Time flies by so fast. Now Olivia is more than 2 years and already have a baby brother.

For almost 5 years of living in Charleston, Clavelene and Marie are the only Filipino I meet whom I become close friends. They are just two of a kind. I miss you girls and I hope to see you soon.

Rain, Rain Go Away

When I woke up this morning, it was raining and now it's past 2 pm and it's still raining a little bit. I was planning to go to walgreens to pick up the pictures. I am trying to do some scrapbooking while I am on vacation. I have this scrapbook kit since 2003 and I have yet to finish one album. So far I only have 4 pages in there LOL.

My friend Clavelene and I did a one day scrapbook session,but we were only able to finish one page each ( I think ). As you see, I am lazy too. Ha ha ha

Boring Day

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My weekend was fabulous! Last Saturday, I was able to see the beauty of fall for the first time. It was a wonderful experience.

But anyway, back to my boring day. LOL . I am on vacation whole week starting today. This is just a house vacation as I am not going anywhere. My anniversary date with the company I worked will be on the 21st. I still have vacation left and if I don't use them I would lose it.

As of now, I still not sure what to do with this spare time that I have. Can you imagine yourself being at home alone and doesn't what to do ? LOL Any suggestions ?

The Beauty of Nature

Yesterday morning after our women's breakfast at church , we decided to go to one of the park here in Minnesota. I thought it was just a small park. So I went with them. And guess what we walked about 4-5 miles. Yes with my high heels shoes! Ouch. I said to myself, this is not a good idea, I would be really sore when I get home and I might not to be able to walk. I was really expecting to have a very sore body this morning, but I feel fine. I believe stretching my legs before we started walking really helped.

How's your 401K?

Are you contributing to your 401K? If you do, I am sure you experienced the same thing I do. Lost a lot of money for our retirement. When I started contributing to my 401K, I only did a 6% and I increased it to 10% of my gross pay. Over a period of time, the money in my account increased especially that my employer matches our contribution. And I was happy about it. But lately, I have lost a lot of my 401K contributions money. As of yesterday, October 10,2008. I lost 20.41 %. That's not a small money. So what I did was called JP Morgan and told them that I wanted to change my contribution back to 6 % for now. My plan is, I will just put the 4 % into my savings account.

Does anybody have a problem with EC ?

I have a problem with Entrecard since last night. I was getting ready to drop EC, but it was sooooooooooo slow! I tried Internet Explorer as well as FireFox 3. And nothing happens. I don't have a problem with other websites just the one that I really wanted to be in! Oh well, I think I will just ask my husband if we could go out and eat @ Denny's!

I'll start to freak out when my gas is about a quarter of a tank. My husband was supposed to put gas on the car Sunday evening, but we forgot. So I panicked yesterday morning. He said to turn the engine on so that he could see if I could have enough gas to get to my work. Since it's already 6 am. I decided to just drive and just put gas on my way home.



I did filled up the tank on my way home yesterday, the price was $3.05/gal. This was in Shoreview MN, but when I got to Anoka the gas price was only $2.95/gal. This was yesterday , and as I passed by that same gasoline station today , their price is $2.93/ gal. I even heard in the radio that some of the areas in Minnesota has a price of $ 2.80/gal.

I made 600 EC Drops Yesterday

I was amazed by myself yesterday. The reason? I was able to drop 600 EC for the first time since I joined Entrecard. I started became active with EC dropping around July. A 91 Cents Credit Card Balance

My husband and I tried NOT to use credit cards. In fact, we did not have any credit card debt almost a year now. We are very discipline with our finances especially now that the US economy is in chaos. It is our goal to become debt free. I am talking about no mortgage or car payments. I was like, what is this about ? I think the credit card company is was being sneaky to put a balance on my account, and if I forgot to pay it then they hit me with a late fee and a bad credit report?

So my advise to all of you. Make sure you check your credit card balances often. Because credit card companies will try to get you and steal from you. I remember reading an article saying that the credit card companies are not really happy with people who doesn't keep balance on their credit card, they call these people "deadbeats" I would rather be called deadbeat by a credit card company than putting my self into a financial mess!

Phone Number Look Up

Is it not annoying when you and your love ones are getting ready to eat dinner and suddenly your phone rings? You get up and answer the phone , only to find out that it was a telemarketer. Telemarketer used to use an 800 number , but not anymore. When it's not an 800 number , I normally answers them even though I am not familiar with the number. The reason why I now answer phone numbers that are not an 800 number because one time, my husband's sister tried to call us. And I thought that was a telemarketer, so I started talking my own language. I didn't even let her talk. LOL . I was about to hanged up the phone when she said " This is Lisa, Todd's sister " . I am sure all of us has an experience with these annoying phone calls in which we have no idea who it was. I would encourage you to use Phone Number Reporter.
