One of my favorite food to eat is vegetables, especially the green leafy vegetables. I grow up in the farm. Aside from having a rice paddy, coconut trees, we also have different kinds of animals. We have a different variety of fruits , we have mango trees , star apple, jackfruit, guavas, etc. And my mother loves to plant any kinds of vegetables. So everytime we wanted to cook vegetables we will just go to her garden and picked the vegetables that we want.
But then in the US , I dont have that garden anymore. Well, I have a garden but its inside a big building, its called grocery store :-) . One night I really wanted to eat a chicken stew ( tinolang manok ) .Since we dont have the same vegetables that we use to make chicken stew, I decided to try to use spinach . So here I am , so excited to make my first ever tinolang manok in the US. Everything was ready and looks tasty, and when the chicken is now tender and I was getting ready to turn the stove off.. I opened the bag of spinach and getting ready to pour it in the chicken stew... then whallaaa... I saw this big bug . eww... gross!! Next time you open a bag of spinach, wash it thoroughly to make sure there's nothing in it. Even thought the package says " washed and ready to use".
