One day at my new place of work, a girl from the other door knocked on my door and asked if I have a nickel that she could borrow. I always have a change that I put in the drawer so I hand her one nickel. I actually don't know her names, there are lots of people at that building , but there seems to be snobbish people. I don't care, I have my own office anyway. They only talk to me when they need something .
Anyway, the next day as I was getting ready to go home, I saw a nickel on the floor next to the door. I was like, hmmm.. she return my nickel! I like that she return my nickel, but one thing that I don't like is the way she return it.And she never even told me, " hey I put your nickel in your door". When she borrowed me that Nickel, I handed it to her, so I would expect her to do the same. Even though it's just a small thing. Oh well!
How do you usually return the things that you borrowed? Is it the same as this girl ?

Double Baby Shower
My friend from CB invited me to attend a baby shower for her two Filipina friends last Saturday. I was really excited and looking forward for it because I wanted to meet a lof of Pinays. I really do miss my two lovely friends back in Charleston SC.
I went there by myself since Todd was busy that day. I wasn't expecting that there was a bad weather that day. As I was approaching Nora's house, it starts raining. First of all, I am scared to drive in the rain. And also the fact that, that was the fist time I went to Nora's house by myself. My husband and I went their last year when we came to visit her and her family.
And guess what, 5 minutes after I got to their house a siren went off. There's a tornadoe coming! That was kind of scary. As I was looking at the clouds that was very low, I just said a silent prayer that God would protect us at that house as there's a bunch of us.
Anyway, the shower was for Marisal and Rochelle. Marisal will be having a girl while Rochelle will be having a boy. We had a great time, and yes.. We are very LOUD!!!
Here are some pictures; Tony, Rochelle, Marisal and Kris
A bunch of Pinay girls in MN Theresa and I
Me and Nora
With Rochelle.. her belly is really big.. and she still has 2 more months to go .. whewww
With Marisal.. I believe she is on her 28th week.

Cabela's
My husband and I went to Cabela's, the World's Largest Outdoor outfitters. If you love outdoor stuff , then is the place to go :)
The elephant looks like a painting, but it is NOT. This was preserved using the art of taxidermy. They actually have different kinds of wild animals being preserved and the date when they captured the animals. I think that was neat. This whitetail deer was captured in 1944 , in Hubard Country MN . Hmm.. a long time ago .
A Cape Buffalo and Lions, ( the clouds and green grass are painting ) Buffalo and Lions are preserved.

Bad Driver
Yesterday, July 16 my day started fine. My husband and I left for work at the same time, but we go to different directions, him towards west while me towards east. I like this new route that I am taking because I am able to save at least 18 miles of travel a day. Yes I drive 60 miles round trip to work every day. For the first two days that I been in that road, everything was fine. There's not a lot of traffic, but the problem is it has a low speed limit.
And yesterday morning as I was going down hill, there was a car on the lane where I am , driving towards me. I was doing 50mph when I saw him coming and I slam the brake as hard as I can making my purse and my lunch fly. I was like " what was that?" He's trying to pass another car but doesn't have enough time to go back to his lane. And guess what he passed the car infront of him in a NO PASSING ZONE. I was so scared, but was thankful to the LORD for keeping me safe. I was still shaking when I got to work yesterday morning. I am just glad that no one was following too close to me.

Getting a Driver's License
Moving from one place to another is not easy. I think it's okay if you're moving to the same state, but if your moving out of state. There's a lot of hassle. One of them is getting our driver's license change as well as the tag of the car. My husband and I has to take a half day off from work just to get these things taken care of. Here in Minnesota is different, in order for us to get a MN driver's license we have to take a written test, it's like we trying to get a learner's permit. I hope this is the last move that we are going to make.

Heartburn... Ouch!!!
Heartburn is a painful burning sensation in the esophagus, just below or behind the breastbone. The pain often rises in your chest and may radiate to your neck or throat. Heartburn is also known as Pyrosis and non-cardiac chest pain.
As far as I remember I have not experience this until this week. It started Sunday afternoon, I really don't know what I ate. But I have this burning sensation until now. Wednesday was the worse that when I got home I feel like I have lost all my energy. My throat and back neck hurt as well as my stomach. I was thinking maybe it was just an effect of my working out on my abs intensely. But I have been working out for awhile and doesn't have this kind of pain.
My husband bought me some over the counter medicine for acid reflux, but it didn't help at all. So he suggested that I see a doctor. Hmmm.. I am not sure about seeing a doctor yet, but seems like I have no choice. The thing is , we are really new in the area so I am not sure where to go.
I just hope that this burning sensation is gone before the weekend is over.

Age That I Wish to Get Back To
My beautiful and smart friend from Indonesia tagged me this. I am not really sure what age should I go back. She said that I can only chose one year. Thanks so much pretty Trisna
Here's the instructions;
Title: Age That I Wish To Go Back To
Requirement: Write about the one age that you wish to go back to and why?
Tag Mode: 5 bloggers
1st - You leave their blog and post link and add to the list below.
2nd - Let the blogger you want to tag know they been tagged by comment in their blog or etc.
Age that I wish to get back to- 1982 , 10 years old meanie girl
I think, you all know that I am a farm girl. I grew up in a farm. Well , I don't really know how to start this, but when I was 10. My step grandfather's grand daughter Neneng live with my grandma's house. My grandma became a widow when my father was only 14 years old and then she re married. I think I was just jealous that she was living at my grandma's house.
So one day, after school I challenge her for a fist fight. Although she is 3 years older than me she was kind of small. She said that she is not going to fight and that if I hit her she is going to tell my mother and also my lola ( grandma). But then I was being aggressive and this is what I did to her
( I was very bad )
And after I punched her , I ran as fast as I can. I know that she is going to tell my mother so what I did was climb a mango tree and hide
there until it was dark.
Why I would want to go back that age?
So that I can punch her again... he he he .. Kidding. Well, so I could say sorry to her. I am do not know where she is now. I just wish I was being nice to her.
Trisna, I hope this is okay :) Now I am tagging Rose , Wendy ,JoyOz , Marilyn , Jana

Back to the blogging world
It's been two weeks that I have not updated my blog. Seems like forever. For some reason , I don't like to use our laptop when I am blogging. I prefer using the desktop. But since we are in a totally different place, that was impossible.
Like I said in my previous entry, my husband and I stayed at the hotel since our things are not here yet. On Thursday , June 19 the movers finally deliver our stuff. Although staying at the hotel is nice, but I still prefer to live in a house where you can do whatever you want.
Saturday , we spent most of our time unpacking our stuff. Geeezzz.. I can't believe that the people who packed our things, packed everything even the cap of a pen. LOL .
I was able to hook up my computer but we still don't have connection. I was disappointed because I can't connect to the internet at all. We've been calling our internet provider , but not until today that they send someone to check our connection.
Well, I am now back to the blogging world. I really miss my blogging friends. I hope I would be able to visit all the people in my blog roll.
To all my friends who keep visiting my page, thanks so much :)

Hello Minnesota
At last we're here in Minnesota. We arrived Wednesday evening around 11:05 central time. Thank God we got here safely. There were some delays as we were in Chicago as well as when we were in Milwauke . Traffic was so backed up. In chicago , they close two lanes on each directions for construction. And when we got to WI, same thing too. But all in all our travel from Charleston SC to Rogers MN was smooth.
The next day we headed to our apartment.Todd and I plan to rent for a year and then buy a house after that. ( I just hope that our house in Columbus OH will be sold soon ). We took the keys and for our unit as well as keys to enter all the amenities that they have like the gym, billiard room and more. We also picked up the garage remote control. Then from the apartment , we checked in to the hotel where we're going to stay until our furniture and other personal things arrive. Then yesterday, Friday.. we picked Todd's rental car. Yes he will be using a rental car until his truck arrives which per our Relocation counselor, everything arrives on the 19th.Yes we will have a busy day ahead of us. On Monday Todd will start his new job while I will also start my " the same job " :) But not in SC.. it will be here in MN .

Kayaks

A friend of mine invited me and Megan to go kayaking today. Today is the best day for us to go kayaks because I only have about less than 3 weeks before we go to Minnesota. I was really looking forward to it since I have not tried to do it yet. But then my " aunt flow" arrives. Grrrr... ( Ladies I am not sure if you know what I am talking about LOL ). My husband even told me not to let " aunt flow" let me down.LOL. So I told Megan that we have to cancel it. I am sure Patrick was disappointed, but I can't help it. He was so excited about it too. I am excited too because I can finally met his daughter Hannah before me and my husband move to Minnesota. But maybe someday when I visit Charleston we are going to do that. Patrick has 3 kayaks and he said he is going to name one of his kayaks after me . Nice :)

Moving to Minnesota
" I am cold" or " it's so cold in here". These are some of my favorite lines. You might think that we live in the Northern part of the US but NO, we live in South Carolina where summer heat is very intense. It's very humid!Summer here it hotter than summer in the Philippines. We don't have snow down here. But it gets cold in the winter, especially for me that I don't like cold weather at all.
But in a few days, we will be moving to Minnesota. If 68 degrees is already so cold for me, how about negative 20 degrees? Can you imagine me being in one of the coldest states in the US? Oh my gosh!!!
We will be flying to MN next weekend for a house hunting trip. House hunting trip is one of the benefits of our relocation package. It took me hours last night to make book for a flight , hotel and rental car. Although the company will reimburse all the expenses, I still want to find the best deals and use coupons. We will be planning to just rent an apartment for a year and then buy a house. We are still trying to sell our house in Columbus Ohio, but it's really hard to sell a house nowadays. Housing market in the US is really bad right now and yet these construction company keeps building houses.
Anyway, back to our topic. Yes we will be staying there for 3 days and 2 nights for this house hunting trip. We already have an apartment that we wanted to look. I am really going to miss the weather in South Carolina and most of all my two Filipino friends and the people at church.

Broken Sonnet
Lately , I have been hooked up with this Filipino soap opera " Kaputol ng Isang Awit" ( Broken Sonnet ). Although we don't a Filipino channel at home , we don't even have a regular cable to direct TV. I think having a cable at the house is just a waste of money since my husband and I don't watch TV that much.
But this Kaputol ng Isang awit really captures my heart. This is a story of Sarah Monteza a pretty , and a very talented daughter. She didn't know her real father is and her mother played by Snooky Serna can't talk . So it's kind of a sad story. This is actually the first thing that I do when I get home. Go to the Internet and watch my favorite soap opera :)

Facing the Giants
Me and my husband works different shift lately. Sometimes we don't even have time to talk to each other. He's in a swing shift and I tell you what, it's not fun for both of us. There were times that when he gets home I am already sleeping, ( 11:30 pm ) And by the time I have to left for work, my husband is still asleep. And when I come home he already left the house for work. But he was off yesterday and today he doesn't have to go to work until 11 pm . So after the gym, we decided to just watch a movie together. I think for the last couple of weeks, we've never turn the TV on.
Anyway, he was the one who choose what kind of movie we are going to watch and he chose FACING the GIANTS. This is a story of a person who couch the high school football team ,the Shiloh Eagles. He has been a coach for this team for 6 years but never leads his team to a winning season. "When faced with seemingly insurmountable professional and personal crisis, the idea of giving up has never come easier. It's only after an unexpected visitor challenges him to trust in the power of faith that he discovers the strength to persevere." This is a movie about faith , about trusting God , nothing is impossible with God.
After watching the movie , I asked my husband why he chooses this one. And his reply was I was just so depressed by that news about what happened in California today. If you're following the news, you might know what happened in California today. And as a Christian , we are saddened by it.

Mahi Mahi
This is my supper tonight. Isn't it yummy? Rice and fish are the 2 most favorite foods of mine. I can eat these foods everyday and won't complain about it. I even eat rice for breakfast. A lot of people told me that I have to minimize my rice intake because it's not good for me. But I don't see anything wrong with it. They said that if I keep eating rice that I will gain weight. Oh well.
Anyway , this fish is called mahi mahi. I just marinate this with silver swan soy sauce and lemon and a little garlic , then bake it. It's really good. Although I eat a lot of rice, I have to make sure that I also eat lot of vegetables and fruits. And of my favorite is broccoli. AS you can see , I have rice , fish and broccoli :)

Certified Teacher
I'm just done chatting with my sister . Wow! It's already 1 a.m. We were talking about everything, our parents, siblings , etc!
Then all of a sudden she told me to go to the PRC website to check the LET passers . She and eight of our neighbors went to Zamboanga City to take the teachers board exams. They don't have a testing center in Pagadian City. It was held on April 6 and the result was released on April 30. Among the 9 of them , she was the only one who passed the exams. Praise God! She was really excited and happy about it. And can't wait to tell our parents the good news ,but on the other hand she doesn't know how to tell her other examinees the sad news. Of course they will be devastated, they spend money and time only to find out that they didn't make it.
To my sister Edeza, Congratulations to you!

A gift
My husband and I have a little chit chat tonight. Lately we were both busy with our jobs. Especially that they are on a swing shift. This started like 2 weeks ago. So there are times that we don't see each other until the next day. We were just talking about how we've met and how grateful we are to have each other. Everyday I thank God for giving me a wonderful husband. Todd is truly a gift from God.
